Annual Renewal 2021/22

Reinstate Your Registration/Certification Online

The deadline to renew your registration/certification was 1 March 2021.

CDAs, dental therapists and dentists who have not renewed by 1 March are not permitted to practise until they have reinstated. As the deadline has passed, you are now required to pay an additional reinstatement fee.

Reinstatements completed by 1 May 2021 (within 60 days from the renewal deadline) can be done online by logging into your account, completing the online form, paying your annual fee as well as the reinstatement fee. The annual renewal and other relevant fees can be found in Schedule E of the CDSBC Bylaws.

To reinstate after your registration has lapsed for more than 60 days requires completion of a separate reinstatement application process and an increased reinstatement fee. Find out more here.

Your annual renewal is not complete until you have submitted your renwal information and the renewal and reinstatement fees.

What do I need to reinstate?

  • The number of hours that you practised in 2020.
  • Your most current contact information (i.e. email address, mailing address, all practice addresses, phone numbers).
  • Your B.C. Driver's License number (if applicable), all names that you use or have used, and your place of birth (city + country). This information is required in order to ensure that CDSBC has the required data needed for processing your Criminal Record Check through the direct upload process (from CDSBC to the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General directly).
  • Dentists who own sedation facilities will need to provide information about the facility.
  • You will need to have read and understood CDSBC’s standards and guidance documents, including the Code of Ethics and declare that you have done so.

What are my fees?

Read the 2021/22 fee schedule (PDF) that was emailed to registrants with their annual renewal notice in January.

Dental Therapist fees are available in Schedule E of the CDSBC Bylaws (PDF). Dental therapists will receive their renewal forms in the mail and do not renew online.

How do I pay?

The annual registration fee may be paid:

  • Online by credit card (VISA or Mastercard ONLY).
  • Online by Interac from your bank account (RBC Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust, First Nations Bank Canada and most BC credit unions ONLY).
  • Visa debit cards are not accepted.
  • By mailing a cheque or money order - payable to CDSBC - along with the Online Renewal Payment Summary page.

NOTE: You must complete your own renewal and may not have anyone complete it on your behalf.

Your renewal is not complete until you have submitted your online form and paid your registration and reinstatement fees. Once CDSBC has received your renewal information, you can print your receipt and registration/certification card from your online account.
