The CDSBC Board is responsible for ensuring that the College meets its mandate of public protection under the
Health Professions Act. CDSBC is governed by a 12-member Board composed of two CDAs, one dental therapist,
three dentists and six public members.
Election Results are below. The start date for the below positions is July 1, 2021. The term end dates for board member positions are subject to change due to the anticipated amalgamation of the four oral health colleges into a single regulator.

1,274 individuals took part in this election, out of 9,342 eligible voters (13.6% of total eligible voters).
There was not a vote for the two dentist positions on the Board, as only one candidate applied.
The first dentist position has been filled by acclamation. Candidates are acclaimed when only one eligible individual has been nominated for a vacant board position. The following candidate will fill the first dentist position:
Following the 2020 Board election, the Appointments Committee was called on to recruit and recommend a dentist for the second dentist board position.
The Appointments Committee used the Board Composition Matrix to assess candidate competencies and recommended a candidate to the Board. The Board Composition Matrix provides an overview of the core competencies, values and attributes that make both a strong board member and a strong Board. In particular, the Appointments Committee determined the priority is to expand racial diversity on the Board.
