Consultation Notice: Bylaw 12 (Advertising & Promotional Activities)

The College has posted proposed amendments to Part 12 of the bylaws dealing with advertising and promotional activities. The proposed changes are limited to qualifications, continuing dental education, titles and designations as laid out in sections 12.08 – 12.11.

Under the current bylaw, references to qualifications, continuing dental education, titles or designations other than specifying whether the person is a general dentist or certified specialist are restricted or prohibited entirely. The proposed change allows for them to be made, provided they are in unabbreviated form and include the year, the jurisdiction, and the name of the granting organization.

You are invited to submit your comments before Wednesday, 12 July 2017 to consultation@cdsbc.org (please put "Bylaw 12" in the subject line).

Initial Consultation on the Quality Assurance Program Improvements

As you may have heard, CDSBC’s quality assurance program is being revised. We are in the process of discussing this initiative with our registrants and stakeholders. So far, the Quality Assurance working group has gathered input through listening sessions and a survey at the Pacific Dental Conference. We want to hear from a mix of registrants. CDSBC will be hosting webinars and focus groups for specific groups that we haven’t heard from in our consultations to date. For more information about this initiative and upcoming consultation opportunities, click here

After this initial phase of consultation, the working group will use the input received and its research to propose updates to the program. This draft will be shared in spring 2018 for your review and feedback.
