On January 29, 2020, the Board of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) approved amendments to Parts 2 and 4 of the CDSBC bylaws dealing with the College Board and College committees and panels.The proposed bylaw amendments will allow the College to deliver on its Action Plan to the Minister of Health. Comments on the proposed bylaw amendments are welcome before May 11, 2020.

Registrants received notice of the 2020 election by email this year, instead of by post. The nomination period is now open. Key details related to the election, nominations process, and the changes to the Board are available here.
The CDSBC Board election takes place March 25 - April 8 and voting will be held online. This means that all election materials are being sent by email. In order to ensure that your election ballot reaches you, it is more important than ever that we have your personal email address on file as your main email address. Log in now to update your contact information: www.cdsbc.org/login.
Certified dental assistants, dental therapists and dentists can now vote for all elected board positions, and dental therapists can now run for election to the Board.
This is a reminder that registrants must renew their 2020/21 registration or certification by March 1, 2020.
Annual renewal is open. To renew, log in to your account, complete the forms and pay your annual fee. You will not receive a hard copy notice of renewal.

Dentists, dental therapists or CDAs who plan to retire effective March 1, 2020 can do so through the online renewal process by choosing the 'Retired/Resigned' option. Dentists who want their retirement to be effective prior to March 1, 2020, can complete the Retirement/Resignation form and submit to CDSBC.
We are currently updating the contact information we have for those that hold the CDSBC Radiography Designation. If you know a chairside dental assistant or receptionist who exposes radiographs and is not a certified dental assistant, please help us get in touch by sending them to cdsbc.org/radiography-form to update their contact information and to confirm whether they continue to expose radiographs with this designation.
The next meeting of the CDSBC Board is at 10 am on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Terminal City Club, 837 West Hastings Street, in Vancouver.
