2022/23 Annual Renewal

Registrants will be able to renew their registration with CDSBC using the online system beginning Friday, January 7, 2022.

Annual Renewal Fees

We are sharing this notice of the 2022/23 renewal fees for CDSBC registrants.

A detailed breakdown of fees is available in Schedule E (PDF), which will be incorporated into CDSBC's bylaws.

We are pleased to announce that CDSBC fees will remain the same for most registrants in the 2022/23 fiscal year. Details include:

  • Certified dental assistant and dental therapist fees remain the same as last year.
  • Dentists in most categories*, however, will see a significant decrease (up to $1,800) in the fee paid at renewal in 2022/23, as BC Dental Association (BCDA) fees have been removed from Schedule E. The decision to cease collecting equivalent fees on behalf of the BCDA for the 2022/23 fiscal year was made by the CDSBC Board per CDSBC Bylaw 3.09(4), which directs that CDSBC must not collect funds as an agent for any association as of March 1, 2022.

*In the past, dentists in most categories registered with CDSBC paid equivalent BCDA fees upon renewal. Specifically, dentists in all registration categories except for Limited (education; armed services and government), Limited (post-graduate), Limited (research), Limited (volunteer) and Non-practising, paid fees to both CDSBC and BCDA.

Annual Renewal Opens January 7

The CDSBC Bylaws require registrants to renew their 2022/23 registration or certification by Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

You will be notified by email when the online renewal system opens on January 7, 2022. To renew, log in to your account, complete the forms and pay your annual fee.

Registrants must ensure the following is current:

  • Quality assurance requirements (continuing education and continuous practice hours) are met
  • Contact information
  • Liability insurance (dentists only)
  • Criminal record check: CDSBC submits a CRC application on your behalf every five years. If your five-year criminal record check is in process, and you have recently been contacted by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General to provide additional information for your criminal record check, you must submit proof to CDSBC that you are complying with their request to finalize your renewal. If you have any questions about this, please email registration@cdsbc.org.

COVID-19 Update: Priority Access to COVID-19 Booster Vaccination Available to CDSBC Registrants and their Staff

Last week, Immunize BC shared the timeline and process for CDSBC registrants and their staff working in the community—categorized as “community health care workers"—to get priority access to COVID‑19 vaccination booster doses. In early January 2022, community health care workers will be invited to receive their booster, based on the interval from their Dose 2 vaccination.

CDSBC sent the information from Immunize BC via email to all of our registrants with details from Immunize BC on how to register for the community health care worker booster vaccination list. Please check your email inbox for a message titled Action Required: Priority access to COVID-19 booster vaccination (sent by CDSBC on December 17, 2021).

For CDSBC, this will apply to registrants working in private practice settings; registrants working in acute and residential care settings have already received information on accessing their booster shots.

Registration for this booster program requires a special access code, which is included in the email that was sent to you. The self-identification code is confidential – those who are not eligible to use the code will be turned away at the vaccination clinic.

Have questions? Phone the call centre at 1-833-838-2323, available daily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (PST).
