Message to Registrants About BC Wildfires

Posted 14 July 2017

Our province remains under a state of emergency because of the wildfire situation. About 14,000 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes, and another 10,000 residents of Williams Lake remain on evacuation alert. Officials are warning that gusty winds could spread wildfires to other parts of the province, and there is a risk of thunderstorms and lightning again.

We recognize that registrants in the fire zones are also being affected – as are your families, your colleagues and your patients. Keeping safe and protecting your homes and businesses will be your top priority during this time. As your regulator, we wish to offer our support however it is needed. If you wish to contact us directly, please write to registrarsoffice@cdsbc.org

If you would like to
find out more, the BC Wildfire Service has a map of the active wildfires here and full details and information bulletins here.

On behalf of the Board and the staff of the College, our hearts and well wishes go out to you and to all British Columbians threatened by the forest fires.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Don Anderson, President                     Jerome Marburg, Registrar/CEO
