Our first listening session in Victoria last November was a success and we will be hosting additional sessions in Surrey (23 Feb.), Nanaimo (28 March) and Nelson (28 April). This is your opportunity to have input on key activities and policy initiatives. You can read more here.
Registration is now open for the Surrey Listening Session at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel on Thursday, 23 February from 6-8 pm. (A light meal will be served at 5:30.) The topics to be discussed are sedation, quality assurance, and corporate dentistry.
This event is free, but you must pre-register. Please note that listening sessions are not eligible for CE credits. To see all CDSBC events, visit the events page of the website.
This month Dr. Don Anderson addresses two areas the Board has identified as high priorities: sedation, and considerations about colleagues suffering with addiction.
“This fall we heard the terrible story of the sedation incident with young Amber Atwal in Edmonton. This child had a general anaesthetic (GA) sedation procedure provided by a dentist, after which she suffered a brain injury...”
“I have been furthering my interest in the topics of wellness and addiction since I last wrote about them in October….I'd like to share with you a few of the key things I've learned, and update you on College developments in this area…”
The College of Physicians and Surgeons has updated the Duplicate Prescription Pad order form, which is used by all prescribers. Dentists who require a new duplicate prescription pad should complete the order form on CDSBC’s website (not the version that is included within existing prescription pads) and send it by email to email@example.com or by mail. We will continue to submit the form to the College of Physicians and Surgeons for processing on your behalf.
