Sedation and Anaesthesia

Dentists offering sedation and general anaesthesia must adhere to the requirements described in the College’s standards for provision of these services.

All dentists who provide general anaesthesia, deep sedation and /or moderate sedation (including the use of parenteral medication and/or multiple oral sedatives with or without nitrous oxide/oxygen) must register their qualifications with the College.

Note that dentists who provide deep sedation and/or general anaesthesia must also apply to have their facility inspected and accredited every three years by the College.
