Section 44

1. The Dentists Act is amended by adding the following section:
Criminal Records Review Act
If a registrant fails to authorize a criminal record check under the Criminal Records Review Act or an adjudicator under that Act has determined that a registrant presents a risk of physical or sexual abuse to children and that determination has not been overturned by an appeal panel under that Act, the council must, after giving the registrant an opportunity to be heard, review the registration of the registrant and, taking the failure or the determination into account, decide whether to impose limitations or conditions on the registration of the registrant or suspend or cancel the registration of the registrant.
Commencement
2. Section 1 comes into force on April 1, 1997.
