Honoured Member Award

October 2003

The honoured member award was established on June 7, 2002 by the Executive Committee of the College, and is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the art and science of dentistry or to the dental profession over a sustained period of time. This award may be for service that is provincial, national or international in nature, and is also available to non-members of the College. Candidates for this award must be nominated by the Nominations & Awards Committee or by five members of the College in good standing. All nominations and supporting documents are reviewed by the Nominations & Awards Committee to determine recipients for the award.

This award replaces the "honorary membership" that had been established in September 1970. All honorary members were exempt from payment of the provincial portion of the annual licence fee, but still retained all the rights and privileges of an active member.
