CDA Schools in B.C.

Eight public colleges and three private colleges in B.C. offer Level II dental assisting programs. All except two have attained accreditation status with the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).

CDAC-Accredited colleges

Graduates of accredited Level II dental assisting programs must successfully complete the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) written examination to be eligible for certification in B.C.

Non-accredited colleges

Graduates of non-accredited programs are required to complete the NDAEB written examination and successfully complete the NDAEB’s Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) to be eligible for certification in B.C.

CDSBC advises students and potential students of non-accredited CDA programs to contact the NDAEB in advance to confirm their eligibility to take the exams.
